Final Checkup Today
I dropped the bike yesterday to get the tires put on and the wheels and footpegs painted. Later I thought of more to ask, so I stopped by the shop on my way in to work today. The wheels looked super good with the black paint, and he'd sandblasted the pegs already. I had him check the brakes (which were fine) and asked if he could adjust the suspension any for the extra load I'll be carrying, and remembered one more thing...some rear frame sliders I'd bought for the bike. The plan was to have it all together and picked up at lunch.
At 11:45, my phone rang at work from Burns Automotive. That was not a good sign, because he NEVER calls me unless something unusual has happened. Turns out when he was putting the front wheel back on, he noticed the wheel bearing was pretty much done, so he was calling to let me know there would be a delay (not done by lunch) and to get the ok to fix it. I'm very glad he found that in SC and it didn't make itself known halfway across Missouri.
After work I went and picked up the bike, now considerably altered with the black wheels. There are a few other parts that might have to end up painted, too :) But for now, I might be close to done. I hope.
